To successfully launch NBC’s local media websites (NBCNewYork.com, NBCChicago.com, etc) the sites needed to feel authentic and credible. To do that we decided they needed content, so we created "The Golden Local", the World’s First Human Trophy. Cast from local comedy troupes, we picked locals who were experts on all areas of their city, dressed them in gold and stuck them on a rotating platform.

Debates were held online to find the best venues, from taco stands to comedy clubs, as voted by the locals. Winners had the honor of "The Golden Local" Human Trophy spending a day with them (on a spinning platform of course), while blogging about the venue and shooting content for the local NBC site.

We also created non-human trophies for the six smaller markets, featuring Oscar-like gold statues stylized for each city. (more screengrabs coming soon)
